With a great start to the year and more than 1/2 way through, AVM has completed 6 mission trips and has at least 4 more to go. AVM has been blessed to have team members from New Mexico, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida and Mexico. We have been to over 6 different communities, with our teams ministering to the loving people of the western amazon basin physically and spiritually, by bringing medical and dental clinics along with evangelism and discipleship. AVM has also expanded it’s Internship program and I would like to share a letter sent to me from our latest intern that just returned from the river:
Amazon Vision Ministries,
I cannot truly put into words the impact that my time in Brazil has had on my life. Seeing over 40 people come to know Christ was breathtaking. Watching the Lord work in His mighty ways was beautiful. Surrendering my plans and my ways was humbling to its core. Learning the work that goes on behind the scenes, and the worship that the labor is was impactful. Meeting people with so much wisdom was amazing. Learning the beauty of a new culture on such a deep level was incredible. Seeing lives sold out for the cause of Christ was inspiring. Watching the kids open up and love so unconditionally was so sweet. And my most favorite, watching the Gospel break down walls, defy all odds, change lives, restore what was dead and broken, and unite nations was just indescribable and only from the Lord. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to have this opportunity. Thank you for giving this little 18 year old girl from South Georgia a chance to experience the beauty of the work that Christ is doing in the Amazon. Thank you for your faithfulness in advancing the Gospel. God is truly amazing and so worthy of our praise. I know this program will impact so many lives throughout the years to come, just as it has so greatly impacted mine. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve with you. Thank you.
